How do I register at Batchmates?
Go to the site http://www.batchmates.com
Click on the large "Join Now" button.
In the page that loads, select your Country, State and City from the drop-down menus.
Click on the "Click to Continue" button.
In the next page, select the Country, State and City of your Institute from the drop-down menus.
Click on the institute name.
Fill in the form.
Click "Submit" when done.
An E-mail will be sent to you with the confirmation key at the Email-id which you provided when registering at Batchmates. Click on the link provided in the mail so as to confirm your Email-id and access all the features at Batchmates.

How do I edit my registration details?
Login to your account.
Click on the Home tab present in the top panel.
Click on Edit Profile button beside your name.
Make the necessary changes.
Click Submit to affect the changes.
Wait for your profile to be confirmed by our Admin Team (within 24 working hours).

How can I change my Password?
Login to your account.
Click on the Home tab present in the top panel.
Click on Edit Profile button next to your name.
Click on the "Update Password" link in the box with heading "Account Details".
In the box that opens up, enter your old password in the first box.
Enter your new password in the second box and then again in the third box to confirm it.
Click on the Update button to change your password.

How can I change my E-mail ID?
Login to your account.
Click on the Home tab present in the top panel.
Click on "Edit Profile" button beside your name.
Click on the "Update Email" link under the heading "Account Details".
In the box that opens up, enter your old E-mail ID in the first box.
Enter your new E-mail ID in the second box and then again in the third box to confirm it.
Click Update.
A confirmation key will be E-mailed to you shortly thereafter verifying your request of changed E-mail. Kindly comply with the instruction in this E-mail.

What is a Confirmation Key and why is it important?
When you register for the first time in Batchmates.com or thereafter under a different E-mail id, a confirmation key mailer goes out to you (at the registered email id) to validate the E-mail address. This key helps us validate real users and prevent automated registrations.
It is imperative that you click on the URL mentioned in the mailer so that your E-mail ID and Membership are validated, which would allow you to start using the host of features on Batchmates.
Non-compliance to this mailer might find you losing out on some features of the site.

How do I search for friends?
Login to your account in Batchmates.
Find your friend through Search option in left panel.
A list will be displayed.
You can also search for your friend via Institute name.
Search for the institute where your friend has studied by the Search option in the left panel.
List of institute(s) matching your search will be displayed.
Click on the institute you are looking for.
Click on the "View Members" link.
Provide the name of your friend in the Search Friends option at the bottom of the page.
A list will be displayed.
You can also view the member list batch-wise by selecting the year from the drop down available.

How do I send mails to my friends?
Once you find your friend, click on the name to view the profile.
Click on the Contact Now icon just next to the photo of the member to send a personalised mail.
When ever you send a mail to any of your friend it gets deposited in batchmates.com virtual mail box and an intimation goes to their web based email account informing that they have received a mail from you which is lying in their batchmates.com mail box.

Can I have the contact details of my friends registered at Batchmates?
Details or directory of members are withheld as a strictly privacy policy to members. Batchmates by no means whatsoever gives out any details of its members to any individual or organization for any personal or commercial use.
You can always send a mail to your friend. To send a personlised mail, search for your friend and click on mail icon. When ever you send a mail to any of your friend it gets deposited in batchmates.com virtual mail box and an intimation goes to their web based email account informing that they have received a mail from you which is lying in their batchmates.com mail box.

Mails sent to my friend are unanswered. Can I have another source of contact.
When ever you send a mail to any of your friend it gets deposited in batchmates.com virtual mail box and an intimation goes to their web based email account informing that they have received a mail from you which is lying in their batchmates.com mail box.
It might be possible that your friend has not checked their mails and so you have not received a reply from them. We have no control of which people check their emails - whether their email accounts are 'live'. But the millions of mails exchanged between members since launch and thousands daily is a proof that members are reuniting through batchmates.
We always ask our members to keep their Email IDs updated so that they are always in touch with their friends. Beyond this Batchmates.com has no control over the Email IDs provided by the members.
We request you to send a mail again to your friends by the same process.
Details or directory of members are withheld as a strictly privacy policy to members.
Trust we have your understanding in this regard.

How can I edit my Batch Year?
Login to your account.
All the Places where you have registered will appear.
Click on the "Edit Details" link below the name of the place, which you want to edit.
Carry out the necessary changes and click on Submit.

Login using your Email/Unique Id & Password.
All the Places where you have registered will appear.
Click on the places for which you want the view the batchmates.
A list of all students of the same batch as yours is displayed.

How can I search members in an institute/corporate/civil service?
Login to your account.
Search for your place with the help of "Search" option in the left panel of the home page.
A list will be displayed.
Select the place you are looking for.
Click on Member List tab at the top.
Search for your friend with the help of the "Search" option at the bottom of the page.
Here you can also select the batch year to view the member list batch-wise.

I have registered as a faculty in my institute by mistake but I want to register as a student.
Login using your Email/Unique Id & Password.
All the places where you have registered will appear.
Click on the "Edit Details" link against the place name for which you have registered as a faculty.
Click on Delete link on the top right side of the page.
Click Ok in the message box that appears to remove your name from the Institute (or Click Cancel if you choose not to delete your name from the Institute).
Now register yourself as a student.

I have forgotton my password. How can I retrieve it?
Click here to retrieve your password.
Provide the emailid you registered with Batchmates and a mail will be sent to you immediately with the login details.
In case you do not receive the mail then please check your bulk mail folder because possibly due to various online filter setting this mail might go to your bulk mail folder. Also make the necessary changes in the Bulk Mail folder settings so that you receive all mails from Batchmates in your Inbox.

I am not able to login despite providing correct emailid and password.
If you are using Internet Explorer clear the cache of your browser by following the instructions below :
Click on 'Tools' in the top menu bar of the browser.
Choose 'Internet Options' from the drop down menu.
Click the 'Delete files' button that appears in the window.
Make sure to check the "Delete all offline content" check box. Click on "OK" button.
Click the 'OK' button of the window and try browsing www.batchmates.com again.
If you have performed the above steps and you are still not able to login, then ensure that the cookies are enabled in your browser. To do so follow the instructions mentioned below :
Click on 'Tools' in the top menu bar of the browser.
Choose 'Internet Options' from the drop down menu.
Select the 'Security' tab.
Click on the 'Custom level' button.
Make sure to select the 'Enabled' radio button for 'Cookies' Settings.
Click the 'OK' button of the window and try browsing www.batchmates.com again.
Alternatively, if you are using Windows 2000 / Windows XP and have performed the above steps and you are still unable to login, then proceed as follows :
Click on 'Tools' in the top menu bar of the browser.
Choose 'Internet Options' from the drop down menu.
Select the 'Privacy' tab.
Click on the 'Advanced' button.
Select the 'Override Automatic Cookie Handing' check box so that the First-Party Cookies and Third-Party Cookies are set to Accept.
Click the 'OK' button of the window and try browsing Batchmates.com again.
If you are using Netscape then follow these steps to resolve the issue :
Click on 'Edit' in the top menu of the browser.
Choose 'Preferences' from the drop down menu.
On the left hand side of the new window, click the 'Plus' icon to extend the 'Advanced" option. In the list that is displayed below 'Advanced', click on 'Cache'.
Click the 'Clear Memory Cache' button. When the confirmation question comes up, click the 'OK' button. Click the 'Clear Disk Cache' button. When the confirmation question comes up, click the 'OK' button.
Click the 'OK' button of the window and try browsing Batchmates.com again.

How do I upload my photo?
Login to your account.
Click on Home tab at the top panel.
Click on the Photos link (with the image of a camera under it).
Click on Browse to select a photo from your computer.
Click on Open.
Add a suitable caption.
Check the box "Make this photo visible in my public profile" to allow anyone to see the photo.
Check the "My Photo" box to add the photo to your "My Photo" collection, check the "Institute Photo" box to add the photo to your Institute photos or check the Pictograph box to add the photo to your Pictograph.
You may even check all the three boxes to add the photo to all the three categories.
Click Upload to start uploading the photo(s).
Your photo will be confirmed within 24 working hours by our Admin Team, after which, it will be available online.

The size of my photo is more than 1.5 MB. How can I upload this photo?
If your photo is more than 1.5 MB then you can reduce the size of the snap by software such as Adobe Photoshop, Macromedia Fireworks etc.
If you are unable to do so then kindly forward it to us at support@batchmates.com and we will take care of the rest.

How can I edit My Subscriptions?
Login to your account.
Click on Home tab at the top panel.
Click on the "My Subscriptions" link under My Network box.
Select the boxes of subscriptions whose mails you wish to receive.
Uncheck the box against any service you don’t want to be mailed about.
Click on the "SUBMIT" button to update the changes.
Please note that if you unsubscribe, then you will not receive updates on the new members who join your institute. Also you will miss out on the new offers that Batchmates keeps introducing for its members.

How do I delete my profile/deregister from Batchmates?
Login to your account.
Click on "Edit Profile" button beside your name.
To delete your registration click on "Delete" link appearing on the top right side of your profile.
It is only here by being on the Batchmates that your friends can contact you. You never know when your friend may register and send a mail to you. We also keep you updated of the members who have joined your organisation every fortnight and the latest offers we have for our members. So you can very well understand the opportunity that you will miss. However, the choice is finally yours to delete your entry through the procedure mentioned above or stay on Batchmates.com free for life. Top

Why is my name with other details coming on Google search?
We have restricted Google to fetch these kind of pages from our server. Please note that Google is a third party search engine. The page that is displayed when you search for your name in Google comes from its cached pages over which we have no control.
