Common Entrance Test or CET Karnataka is conducted for the purpose of admitting students to first year Courses in Engineering Medical (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery MBBS) Dental Courses in Bangalore , Mangalore, and other districts in Karnataka, All professional colleges (educational) within the Karnataka State which offers Medical Education, Dental Education and Engineering are affiliated to the state run Universities and recognized by the MCI, DCI and AICTE. Education that fall to the share of the Karnataka State Government. CET is similar to other states CET in India and all India level like AIEEE, AIPGE, TNPCEE, CBSE exam cat Karnataka or iit/jee, gate, icet, CETKarnataka is so popular in other states like Kerala, TamilNadu,Maharashtra,Delhi. In India . There are three kinds of seats (Free seats, payment and management quota seats) available in the various Karnataka colleges within Karnataka. Who can Apply?
A candidate who has passed the second year Pre-University or 12th standard or equivalent examination (herein after referred to as the "qualifying examination" or "Q. E." in short) with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects and English as one of the languages of study and obtained at least 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology group is eligible for Medical / Dental / Ayurveda / Homoeopathy / Unani / Naturopathy & Yoga courses (40% in case of SC/ST/ Category-1 candidates.) ; provided that for Dental course, the candidate must also have secured 50% of marks in the English language. (40% in case of SC/ST/Category-1 candidates.) Further, the candidates seeking admission to Medical / Dental / Ayurveda / Homoeopathy / Unani / Naturopathy & Yoga courses, should have completed the age of seventeen years as on 31st December of 2005.
Based on the performance of the candidates in Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects in both Common Entrance Test and the Qualifying Examination, the Medical rank list will be prepared and published separately for admission to Medical / Dental / Ayurveda / Homoeopathy / Unani / Naturopathy & Yoga courses.
