Glory of a Saint by Nidhi

While i was reading the book by the great saint, i came accross the following story:

"Once Narad Muni was roaming from places to places..while he was on his journey to different lokas he saw saints performing Yagnas and Poojas and other spiritual practices. Seeing this Narad got curious and went to Lord Brahma and asked, "What is the glory of a Saint?"

Hearing this Lord Brahma smiled and told Naradji to go to a cocoon and ask. Naradji leaves and goes to Prithvi Loka and the moment he approaches the cocoon, the cocoon dies. Being disappointed he returns and tells Lord Brahma about it. Lord Brahma then says, "Dont worry Narad...now go to the duckling and ask." Naradji leaves and goes to the duckling and the moment he appraoches the duckling, the duckling dies. This time again Naradji is disappointed and returns to Lord Brahma and narrated the incidence. Lord Brahma says : Dont worry Narad, now go to the king...he just had a newborn prince..ask him. Naradji leaves and the moment he approaches the king's couryard everyone is very pleased to see Naradji -- that he has come to give blessings to the newborn. The moment Naradji takes the baby the baby dies and becomes LIGHT. This time Naradji is very very disappointed and sad and with a long face returns to Lord Brahma and narrates the whole incidence.........& at this Lord Brahma says, "NARAD! THIS IS THE GLORY OF A SAINT!" At this Narad says, "Sorry, Lord Brahma I did not get you, please explain.

Lord Brahma then tells Narad that when he approached cocoon, the cocoon was relieved from that yoni (cycle) and took birth as  duckling and when his lotus feet approached duckling, the duckling was relieved from that cycle and took birth as king's son and when he approaced the little prince he then was not only relieved from that cycle but also from the cycle of birth and death and hence became Light......"O NARAD! THIS IS THE GLORY OF A SAINT" .....

This story had goosebumps all over my being and while i closed my eyes and contemplated on the story a question arose inside me: what is our contribution/importance? and then to look for the answer i sat for meditation although i was fully connected but still didnt get any answer and then i went to sleep (they say when u sleep after meditation -- whatever u see in ur dreams is a part of ur meditation) anyhow this is the dream i had:

" there is this stadium which is fully crowded. I am a part of the one of the basketball teams. While we played i had the basketball in my hands and wanted to score a goal but instead i pass the ball to one of my team mates and he scores and we win the game. After the game was over all the friends gathered around our team and i boasted "we won the game....we won the game" and in turn one of my friends asks "WHAT WAS YOUR CONTRIBUTION? infact u did not even score a goal" .......to which i answered "only my being there was enough.....and then i looked into his eye and emphasised : "ONLY MY BEING THERE WAS ENOUGH" ........

I understood at that time that only our existance is enough to show God's bountiful love....God's energy pours through us all the time, all of us ARE the beackon of light, in this body only we can meet the creator within, we can talk to HIm and also become HIm....we are already fulfilled inside and once this practise is put into use with pure heart and intention -- we become the wish-fulfilling energy of God (for a good cause)... we all carry God's energy in its fullness already ..........

@Braj...i guess if everyone is relieved from the cycle of birth and death then we will all become LIGHT....& u are right Law of Karma is universal :)

@Ashishji....Kanak very rightly said no one is faltoo..we all hold a very special place -- its just like telling a mother that how bad or faltoo ur child is...how bad would God feel when he hears this -- especially when we are all created with so much love & positive energy...U ARE VERY SPECIAL ASHISHJI

@ Kanak... thank you for putting in ur comments -- very valuable to me

@Ashokji...thanks -- great simile

@Rakesh....right Rakesh that is exactly the gist of all of spirituality...we go this way or that way we all reach the same destination...so why not pick the right path!

@ Venkat...like Anila said manifest the divinity within you and everything else will come on its own...now having said that i also believe that we should keep trying and make every experience a learning one & keep moving on in life. but then we cannot label it as a failure or success....only efforts are in our hands and that should be put in with truth and honesty and full being rest should be left at His will.....

but then what my dream suggested was that just like every drop in ocean counts similarly every being counts...our existence is as important as others...for eg. in my dream i passed the ball to another teammate and instead he scored & got a credit, but would u say it was failure on my part or success on his part...both were corelated and both efforts were equally important, isnt it? ...we both did our parts

and i write all this in humility.

hey sorry guys for not being able to catch up....

@Ashish....even though God is very busy he is always up to the mark and makes sure everything is taken care of...isnt that a lesson: when God keeps doing His work then why shall we be lethargic or pessimistic???

Trusting in God won't make the mountain smaller, but will make climbing easier..Don't ask him for a lighter load but ask him for a stronger back.
(Venkat bhai would ceratinly agree with me.)

A soul searching article. Braj.. do not get dejected look at a butterfly... it has only a few days of life and there too it almost works non stop. look at the colorful dance it produces despite knowing that life is of mere some days. LIFE IS NOT ABOUT AVOIDING THE STORMS BUT DANCING IN THE RAIN. USE THIS LIFE TO DO SOMETHING WORTHWHILE. They say you get human yoni after a long time... so why not to make most of it. And if you reach DEV LOK it will not be populated... someone there will be tempted and would be asked to leave. GOD keeps its Balance Sheet clean.

Why Nari ? Why Nar ?
Why Heaven ? Why Hell ?
Why Life ? Why Death ?
Why Religion?Why spiritualism?
Why Moh-Maya? Why Mukti ?
Why a Mind ? Why a Heart ?
Why we have pre-determined KARMAS ?
When we are mere PUPPETS ?

If every living thing of this world gets relieve from the cycle of birth and death, then who will take care of this earth (Prithivi), which is created by God only. Moreover, there will be population explosion in the heaven (Devalok).

So, I believe that if anyone does not perform well in the heaven (Devalok), he is to return to the Earth (Prithivi Loka). Similarly good performers of this earth will get relieve from the cycle of birth and death and move to heaven (Devaloka).

Though God is immortal energy. He also has to do something to maintain his position. Othewise, his non-ending life will be boring and charmless. So I believe that Karma is one important element for the existance of everyone; be he God or Human being.

As Lord Krishna says ' He is in us and we are part of him.' Once human discovers this truth he becomes a Sadhoo. each individual is playing its pre-defined role and our bodies are carrier of soul. Unknowingly we start falling in love with bodies and stay as humans rather than becoming Saint.

Meditators do dream in sleep but forgets to remember after getting up.And it is true there is nothing but light energy which is generated from a center and we call it GOD.Just like a film.We can not find artists in the projected light unless on a screen.

Ashisji NO ONE CREATED BY GOD IS FALTOO....LEAST OF ALL YOU!!!

Yes true Venky....This is directly linked to us.

Another Godly post today ! Ok.. the love and energy runs through us. That alone, our mere existence, is not enough if we fail to do our duty. So one should learn to utilise the energy properly.
Posted by: Ajai Kumar SinhaOn: Monday, February 23, 2009 2:12:31 PM
WE should justify our role only. When we are busy in performing then we concentrate only on our job and we ropein others to be part of it. And we should also learn that failures are the step towards success.....

Nice for example, but Nidhiji is God will listen to us? Because the God(?) is very busy person, he/she have no enough time for us like faltoo admi like me.
